Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) |
Until very recently, the only thing I ever used Apple Cider Vinegar for was to clean my coffee maker. I would put a small amount of it in the water and then let the coffee maker run (without any coffee of course). And, that was it.
Then I purchased an Indian Clay to use as a mask and I was surprised to see that it called for some ACV (apple cider vinegar). This really peaked my interest and since then, I have learned of the many benefits and ways to incorporate ACV in to my life. I really love that this is an all-natural product. It's made using cider.

Benefits:
1. Skin
You can apply it directly to your skin as a toner. I don't dilute mine but you can if it's too strong for you. It will help balance out your skin. The biggest thing I've noticed is that I don't get oily the next day. I don't have to blot several times and if I wear makeup it's not melting off by 2pm (melting makeup is common in South Florida!). I do this at night only (yes, it's a bit stinky!).2. Body
Along with what I mentioned in number 1, when consumed it will help regulate the pH balance inside your body as well. In addition, it will help you cleanse your system which is probably why you see this as a staple ingredient in so many natural cleansers.
Mix a couple of teaspoons with water and a little bit of lemon. Drink it up and you have a great detox and weight-loss assister. Some folks will take shots of it 1-2 times a day for a quick burst of energy. I have yet to be able to handle this but I'm trying!
3. Hair
Dilute it again (maybe half and half or 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar) and use it as a rinse in the shower. I've done this a few times and it adds a lot of shine to your hair. Surprisingly, it doesn't smell like vinegar.
4. Teeth
Apply it directly on to your teeth with a brush to remove stains. Genius! It makes total sense because if you've ever used this as a cleanser, you know it will clean just about anything so teeth stains should be no problem for it.Aside from the benefits to your own body, you can easily use this to clean just about anything in the house from the coffee maker to even toilets! So far, this really does seem like a product that can handle ANYTHING.
Do you use ACV? If so, what benefits do you get from it?
